Bulldog Baseball Quartet Receives SCIAC All-Academic Recognition

The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced on Wednesday that sophomore center-fielder Christian Conci (San Mateo, CA), sophomore second baseman Christopher Scalisi (Woodland Hills, CA), junior third baseman Mark Tumlinson (Anaheim, CA), and senior catcher Sean McMillan (Redwood City, CA) represent the University of Redlands on the conference's All-Academic Baseball Team.

Conci and Scalisi receive their inaugural such honor in their first year of eligibility for the award, while Tumlinson lands on the All-Academic Team for the second season in a row.   McMillan recently graduated with a degree in Creative Writing and earns this accolade for the first time in his solid career with the Bulldogs.

This savvy quartet combined efforts on the diamond to help Redlands put together a 28-14 season that included the squad's second appearance at the SCIAC Postseason Tournament in three years.  The Bulldogs finished the campaign tied-for-second in the conference standings.

To receive this honor, student-athletes must own a 3.40 cumulative GPA or higher, must have completed at least one calendar year at his institution, and must have reached a minimum of sophomore eligibility.  For a complete list of this year's recipients, please visit www.thesciac.org.
