2011:  Crafty left-handed pitcher who played several roles for the SCIAC Champion Bulldogs… Helped the club notch its first NCAA Championship tournament victory since 1985… Member of the team that tied the school record with 30 wins during the program’s 100^th season… Appeared in 18 games, nine as the starting pitcher, while posting a 4-3 record with one complete game… Tied for the team-lead with three saves… Registered a 4.15 overall ERA in 56.1 innings of work… With Byrd on the mound, the opposing batters hit only .278…  Allowed only 12 walks… Earned a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage… Notched the save when he struck out the final batter against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on April 25 as the Bulldogs clinched the team’s first conference championship in five years… U of R scholar athlete… 

2010:  Southpaw relief pitcher who led the Bulldogs in opponent batting average and ERA with marks of .236 and 3.00, respectively… Came out of the bullpen on 16 occasions, logging 15 total innings… Allowed only five extra-base hits…  Collected his lone victory in 2010 against Wesleyan University (CT) on March 20, shutting down the eighth inning in a 5-4 win…

2009: Gained experience pitching in relief for Redlands… Made 12 appearances… Compiled a 6.14 ERA in 14.2 innings pitched… Struck out 11 batters… Offered two assists for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage… Recorded four strikeouts in two innings against Caltech (4/10)… Held Cal State East Bay scoreless in two innings of action (2/28)… Redlands Scholar-Athlete…
