Redlands Shines with 178 SCIAC All-Academic Nods in Stellar Showing

It was announced earlier today by the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) that more than 1,400 student-athletes from the nine member institutions comprise the 2016-17 All-Academic Teams for the 21 sponsored sports.  The University of Redlands accounted for 178 roster spots in the list as a result of numerous dual-sport athletes who donned the Maroon and Gray.  To achieve the SCIAC All-Academic Team honor, individuals must earn a cumulative GPA of 3.40 or higher and must have completed one full calendar year at their current institution.

Overall, the Bulldogs were represented among all 21 teams with at least two student-athletes from each.

During the academic year, Redlands student-athletes garnered a 3.21 GPA as a group, with women's tennis and women's soccer each topping the charts with a 3.50 team mark.
