The Iron Bulldog Club is an elite group of student-athletes, who
in the opinion of the Strength and Conditioning staff exhibit the
characteristics of the “champion student-athlete” in
addition to unrivaled dedication to strength training and
conditioning.
The champion student-athlete, through his or her own internal
motivation, finds a way to balance strength training and
conditioning with external influences such as academics, athletics,
sleep, and social life. They also look within themselves for
weakness, seek advice from coaches and professors, and are
relentless in their pursuit of academic/athletic achievement. At
Redlands, it is vital for athletic growth that the student-athlete
displays the characteristics of the “Champion
student-athlete”.
At the end of each academic year, the strength and conditioning
staff will select this elite group of student-athletes. Each
student-athlete will receive a dog tag with “Iron
Bulldog” engraved on it. This is the most coveted award for
the Bulldog Strength and Conditioning Program.
Finally, a maximum of two student-athletes from this elite group
will be nominated for the honor of Strength and Conditioning
All-American through the National Strength and Conditioning
Association.
