REDLANDS, Calif. – At the conclusion of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Cross Country Championships the Celia Peterson Character Award was given out, with University of Redlands senior Isabella Glenn (Seattle, WA) being the recipient of the honor for the first time in her career.

This is an annual award to a senior athlete who best exemplifies the conference's high ideals during their association with SCIAC Cross Country. The recipient must qualify both as an athlete and a person using the established criteria listed below.  These awards are named after the initial conference champions in SCIAC Cross Country history with Ray Adkinson (Pomona) winning the initial men's SCIAC title in 1915 and Celia Peterson (Caltech) winning the initial women's SCIAC title in 1977.

2021 has been a breakout season for Glenn, now the holder of the 2nd fastest 6k time in Redland's history. Indicative of her hard work and dedication to Redlands Cross Country, Isabella has continued to elevate herself and her teammates over the course of her career. Always the first to arrive at practice and the last to leave, her role as a team leader has been fundamental to the success of the team - her primary goal is always to help her team improve. When Isabella is not coordinating team get togethers she can be found serving as a Maroon & Gray Student Ambassador working to support the Redlands community, or as a member of the Alpha Phi Omega Community Service organization. Isabella holds a 3.73 GPA as a Health, Medicine, and Society major with a triple minor in Political Science, Environmental Science, and Spatial Studies.
