Redlands Cross Country Collects Four All-SCIAC Awards

Redlands Cross Country Collects Four All-SCIAC Awards

It was officially announced earlier today that the University of Redlands gained two men and two women on the All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Cross Country Teams for their individual success at the conference championship meet.

Sophomore Maria Ramirez (Orange, CA) headlines the quartet as the only First-Team selection due to her top-10 finish of sixth place during last Saturday's race at Prado Park.  She repeats this honor following last year's ninth-place effort that landed her on the First team as a first-year Redlands runner.

Senior Kaylee Jorgensen (Claremont, CA) collects Second-Team honors as a top-20 racer at the SCIAC Championships in which she placed 17th with a time of 24:25.09.  This marks the inaugural All-Conference award of her four-year cross country career.

For the men, juniors Joseph Esparza (Arcata, CA) and Benjamin Casey (Highland Park, IL) represent the Bulldogs on the Second Team by finishing 15th and 16th, respectively.  They each earn their first such award with this year's top-20 showing.

For a complete list of the men's and women's honorees, please visit the SCIAC website.

The Bulldog cross country teams look forward to competing in the NCAA West Regional Championships on Saturday, November 11, at 9 a.m. in Claremont.
