It was announced earlier by the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) that University of Redlands' sophomore Maria Ramirez (Orange, CA) was named the Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for October 9-15. 

Ramirez paced the Bulldogs at Saturday's Pomona-Pitzer Invitational with a fourth-place finish that propelled the team to a third-place showing overall.  While taking on more than 150 individual competitors, Ramirez ran the 6k course in 22:3.87 for a solid result.

This was her fourth-straight meet as the first Bulldog runner to complete the race.
