Lauren Roberts Takes on Top Runners in Cold Conditions at NCAA Cross Country Championships

Senior Lauren Roberts (Portland, OR) represented the University of Redlands cross country program at the NCAA Division III Championships for the second year in a row, earning a time of 22:24.8 to finish 111th out of 280 runners in Winneconne, WI, on Saturday morning.

After the opening 2000 meters, Roberts elevated five spots among the racers by upping her pace over the next 2950 meters.  Despite the below-freezing temperatures, she overtook one more position in the final 1050 meters to finish among the top 39% of the nation's best runners in NCAA Division III.

She improved 71 spots from her 2014 finish.

Roberts completes her collegiate running career with back-to-back appearances at the NCAA Championships, following consecutive All-Region performances at the West Regional races.

Earlier this season, she broke the school record in the 6K with a time of 21:49.4, leaving her mark on Bulldog cross country history books.
