Scott Oseguera closed out a remarkable freshman campaign at the NCAA Championships on Saturday.

Freshman Scott Oseguera (Beaumont, CA) capped off a phenomenal rookie campaign on Saturday afternoon in Hanover, IN, racing at the NCAA Championships en route to placing 183rd overall and 13th amongst all other freshman with a time of 26:28.30.  Racing against the top 275 Division-III runners in the country on the 8k-course, Oseguera closed the book on a season to remember as the top runner for the University of Redlands men's cross country team.

While clocking in a solid overall race on an extremely cold day, Oseguera crossed the finish line as the 10th-fastest Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) competitor.  During the race, he averaged 3:19 per 1k and 5:20 per mile.

In addition, Oseguera was one of just two freshmen in the country who qualified individually, and he finished in front of that other individual qualifier.

Senior Michael LeDuc of Connecticut College captured the individual championship in the men's race with a time of 24:29.30, while St. Olaf College won the men's event as a team, finishing two points ahead of North Central College.
