SCIAC Preseason Women's Water Polo Coaches Poll

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the 2023 women's water polo preseason coaches' poll with the Bulldogs predicted to finish in a tie for sixth with Chapman.

The Bulldogs received 34 points, 11 points behind fifth place La Verne and 15 points behind Whittier for the fourth and final SCIAC Postseason Tournament spot.

The Bulldogs return their second through fifth leading scorers from 2022: Emma Parker (Yucaipa, Calif.), Hannah Long (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.), Sydney Sereg (Fullerton, Calif.), and Courtney Sawin (Tacoma, Wash.).

In goal Tori Zielinski (Sunnyvale, Calif.) returns following a season in which she made 161 saves, recorded 18 steals, posted an assist in only 600 minutes. Following a great weekend to start her season at the CBU Lancer Joust,  Zielinski now has 333 career saves, the ninth most in program history.

Redlands currently sits No. 7 in the country with the six teams ahead of them all being SCIAC foes. Head coach Chris Gielen will look to lead the Bulldogs to the national tournament for the first time since making the NCAA Play-in game in 2011.

The Bulldogs first SCIAC game of the season will be at project third place Cal Lutheran University on Wednesday, March 8 at 4:00 p.m.
