Redlands Volleyball earns USMC-AVCA Team Academic Award

2021-22 USMC-ACVA Team Academic Awards

LEXINGTON, KY - The United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced Monday that more than 1,200 collegiate and high school volleyball teams have earned the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award this season.

The University of Redlands Volleyball team and its 15 members find themselves earning this Team Academic Award after posting a cumulative GPA of a 3.40.  Under the direction of Head Coach Lisa Lindberg, the Bulldogs have gained this honor every year of her career, which began in 2015.  Overall, the program has eight consecutive such awards for a total of 11 in its history.   

The award, initiated in the 1992–93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.

The Bulldogs join Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) members, Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, Cal Lutheran University, Chapman University and the University of La Verne among the elite group of NCAA Division III selections.
