Redlands Volleyball Falls to Chapman Panthers

Following a 10-day layoff from competition the University of Redlands volleyball team jumped back into action by traveling to Chapman University for Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) match against the Panthers on Tuesday.  While showing improvement in each stanza, the Bulldogs feel to the home team in straight sets, 12-25, 17-25, 20-25.

Junior middle blocker Ashton Martin (Redlands, CA) led the Bulldog offense with eight kills, while freshman middle blocker Kiersten Langerud (Williamsburg, VA) added six.  Sophomore setter Ellie McLeod (Redlands, CA) dished out 23 assists.  Freshman Abigail Hickman (Phoenix, AZ) and junior Karly Burningham (Sonoma, CA) patrolled the back row, racking up 12 digs apiece.  In addition, Martin stepped up at defensively at the net by racking up two solo blocks and three block assists.

Redlands (1-13, 1-8 SCIAC) welcomes UC Santa Cruz to Currier Gym on Thursday for a 7 p.m. non-conference bout with the Banana Slugs.
