The University of Redlands women's soccer team faced off against the Regals of Cal Lutheran University in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) match-up on Saturday, October 8, under the lights of Farquhar Field in the Bulldogs' annual Breast Cancer Awareness game.  Despite the Maroon and Gray's early score, it was not enough to hold off the persistent Regals, leading to a 1-3 loss.

The Bulldogs stepped on the field with fire in their eyes, as they quickly drove the ball to the CLU's defensive third to earn an early corner kick.  Sophomore midfielder Lauren Bay (Oak Park, CA) arched it high towards the front of the goal and found the head of freshman forward Hanya Loskutoff (Dublin, CA) for the quick score less than eight minutes into the game.

Although Cal Lu answered by scoring twice in the first frame, junior goalkeeper Hannah Menk (Pleasanton, CA) made four key saves to keep the Bulldogs within striking distance.

Despite outshooting the Regals by a 5-2 margin in the second stanza, the Regals netted one more before the final buzzer to hand Redlands a 1-3 loss. Bay and Loskutoff led the Bulldogs in shots with five and three, respectively.

Redlands (2-8-1, 1-6-1 SCIAC) looks to bounce back when it returns to Farquhar Field on Wednesday, October 12, at 7 p.m. to face off against the Chapman University Panthers.
