The University of Redlands women's soccer team wrapped up its Oregon trip with a hard-fought scoreless draw against the Willamette University Bearcats on Saturday morning.  In a defensive struggle between in-region foes, the evenly-matched teams combined for six shots on-goal and settled for the tie after 110 minutes of competition at Sparks Field in Salem, Oregon.

Redlands' best scoring chance came 16 minutes into the second half when senior midfielder Cassie Lively (Redmond, WA) uncorked a shot from 20 yards out that bounced off of the left post.

Senior midfielder Summer Norquist (Boise, ID) accounted for three of the team's nine total shots, with two of her attempts forcing the Bearcat goalkeeper to make a save.

Sophomore goalkeeper Hannah Menk (Pleasanton, CA) registered two saves in the first half for the Bulldogs. Senior goalkeeper Lexi Felix (Kailua, HI), who played the final 65 minutes, corralled a quality shot by the Bearcats with less than six minutes remaining in the final extra period.

Each squad recorded three corner-kick opportunities during the extended contest.

Redlands (1-0-1) looks forward to hosting Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on Wednesday, September 16, in the Bulldogs' home and Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opener.  Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on Farquhar Field.
