REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Lacrosse team (3-6, 1-4) played St. Mary's (Indiana) College Wednesday night on the R Field after Farquhar Field was unplayable due to the large amount of rain that came in the area and made a four-goal comeback to tie the game in the fourth but would come up short, 15-14.

Emily Webster (Ladera Ranch, CA) scored three times in the opening six minutes as the Bulldogs held a 3-1 advantage. Thanks to a pair of goals from Cailin Walker (Portland, OR) and a goal from Emma Beaver (Bend, OR), the Bulldogs held a 6-3 lead after 15 minutes.

It was a slow offensive second quarter with the two sides combining for only four goals as the Belles outscored the Bulldogs 3-1. The lone goal for Redlands came courtesy of Jenna Bradford (Anaheim, CA) as the Bulldogs took a 7-6 lead into the break.

The Belles went in front for the first time at the 13:48 mark in the third, but Bradford scored her second of the game two minutes later to tie the game at eight.

A 5-1 run from St. Mary's put Redlands down four, 13-9, with 12:06 on the clock in the fourth. Over the next seven and a half minutes Walker, Bradford, Webster all scored to tie the game once again this time at 13 with under five minutes to play.

A pair of Belle goals put the game away as Jacqueline Landucci's (San Mateo, CA) connection with 1:35 left was not enough to lead another comeback.

Walker and Webster each had four goals with Mallory Morrissey (Coronado, CA) assisting on three.

Redlands outshot St. mary's 27-22, added 14 draw controls, was 4-for-9 on free-positions and picked up 33 groundballs.

The Bulldogs return to Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) play as they host Pomona-Pitzer next Wednesday, March 22 at 7:00 p.m.
