While firing off 20 goals for the second time this season, the University of Redlands women's lacrosse team captured an impressive win over the visiting Poets of Whittier College on Saturday at Farquhar Field.  Behind junior midfielder Jacky Craycraft's (Trabuco Canyon, CA) six goals, the Bulldogs registered a 20-10 victory to remain in first place in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) standings.

The Poets nabbed an early 3-1 advantage through the first six minutes of action, but Redlands' senior attack player Aimee Dewan (Alamo, CA) unleashed back-to-back scores to even the count with 17:47 remaining in the opening frame.

After the teams traded punches over the next five minutes, the Maroon and Gray broke the five-all tie with three consecutive netters to create a lead that it would never relinquish.  During this stretch, junior attack player Allie Hoffler (Draper, UT) scored once and dished out an assist, while Craycraft found the back of the net on two occasions in a 30-second span.

Redlands continued to pour on the offense, building a 12-8 advantage by the end of the first period.

During the second stanza, the Bulldogs stepped up their defense with impressive effectiveness, holding the Poets to just two scores.  Whittier got off just six shots in the process.

In addition, Redlands uncorked eight goals on 15 shots, with seven different players finding the back of the net and 23 players earning time in the game.  Sophomore midfielder Emily Dalrymple (Snohomish, WA) was the only multi-goal scorer of the second half.

Beyond her six goals and one assist, Craycraft corralled six of the Bulldogs' 20 draw controls.  Freshman midfielder Stephanie Garrett (San Diego, CA) also pulled in six, while senior midfielder Crystal Painter (Lake George, NY) nabbed five for the Bulldogs.

In addition, Dewan offered a hat trick, one assist, and two caused turnovers, while Hoffler contributed two goals and two assists.

Graduate student goalkeeper Ana Martinez (Pleasanton, CA) registered her 10th win of the season, with this one coming in 55:24 of action.  Freshman Isabella Baez (Zionsville, IN) patrolled the cage for the final few minutes.

Redlands (10-4, 6-1 SCIAC) heads to Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Wed., April 10, for a 7 p.m. tilt against the Sagehens.
