Hannah Jugar named SCIAC Women’s Golfer of the Week

SCIAC Women's Golf Weekly Release No. 4

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Golfers of the Week in the fourth week of voting and University of Redlands senior Hannah Jugar (Chula Vista, CA) was selected as the SCIAC Women's Golfer of the Week for the second straight week and the eighth time in her career.

Hannah led the University of Redlands Women's Golf team to a win at SCIAC No. 2 over the weekend as they beat out Pomona-Pitzer by three strokes to take home their fifth win on the season and their second within SCIAC.  Hannah led the field individually posting a combined score over the two rounds of 137 (70-67), which ties her with teammate Kendall Nicholson (Bellevue, WA) for the second lowest two-round performance in program history, one stroke behind the 136 (64-72) Caroline Ordian shot in the fall 2015.

Jugar was one of two players in the field to shoot a sub-70 round with the 67 being the single round low score of the tournament, which helped her win the event by seven strokes.

Redlands returns to the links for the UC Santa Cruz Spring Invitational this weekend, April 8-9 in Pacific Grove, CA at Pacific Grove Golf Links.  This will give the Bulldogs a warm-up before the SCIAC Championships set to take place on April 23-25in Ventura, CA at Olivas Links Golf Club.
