U of R Women’s Golf takes Third at CMS Challenge | Finishes Fall Schedule

SAN DIMAS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Golf team wrapped up their fall schedule over the weekend during the CMS Challenge, which was played at San Dimas Golf Club. 

The Bulldogs, who were coming off a pair of wins at the CA State Intercollegiate and the Division III Preview Tournament, were unable to keep the streak going as they competed in their third tournament within a two-week span.

After 36 Holes the Maroon and Grey finished 3rd behind Claremont-M-S and Menlo College posting scores of 298-301 (599).  They did beat California Lutheran University (4th – 624), Hope International (5th – 632), Whittier College (6th – 649), and the University of La Verne (7th – 682). 

Kendall Nicholson (Bellevue, WA) continues to play lights out this fall finishing third overall with a 71-73 (E).  Andrea York (Oakdale, CA) and Iris Liu (Diamond Bar, CA) followed in a tie for 11th shooting identical scores both rounds, with a 76-76 (+8).

Jizelle Robledo (La Habra, CA) after shooting a 75 in her opening round dropped into 15th after a 78 in Round 2.  She was +9 for the tournament.   

Hannah Jugar (Chula Vista, CA) was the next Bulldog to score finishing in a tie for 16th.  After an 80 in Round 1, shaved off four strokes to a 76, as she was +12 over the two-days.  Chloe Phan (Milpitas, CA) was the last Bulldog to compete and after starting off strong with a 79, dropped into a tie for 29th following an 85 in Round 2.         

Redlands returns to the links for their spring season on February 11-12 when they compete in SCIAC No. 1, hosted by the University of La Verne at El Dorado Golf Club (Long Beach, CA).
