The No. 17 University of Redlands women's golf team competed in the Mary Hardin-Baylor Division III National Spring Preview at Bay Oaks Country Club, which is the same site as the 2017 NCAA Division III Championships. After Monday's first round, the Maroon and Gray sat just three strokes behind the leader in third place but came on even stronger during Tuesday's round to snag second place with a 36-hole total of 637 (320-317). While taking on 10 other schools, including four ranked among the nation's top 20, Redlands prevailed over the only other Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opponent, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, by 14 strokes, while also defeating regional foe, Whitman College, by six shots.

Reigning individual national champion junior Caroline Ordian (Palm Desert, CA) led the Bulldogs with a third-place finish. After co-leading the event through the opening 18 holes, she completed the tournament with a final score of 153 (74-79). Overall, Ordian tied for fourth among the field with 20 pars and tied for third in birdies with four.

Senior Raquel Gordon (Culver City, CA) tied for seventh in the individual standings by posting rounds of 79 and 81 for a grand total of 160. Her twin sister senior Kari Gordon (Culver City, CA) shot an 82 on the first 18 holes, before knocking off three strokes for a 79 en route to a two-day total of 161. They each posted 19 pars at the outing.

Although senior Jenna Durette (Oceanside, CA) struggled on the first day with an 85, she came back to shoot an impressive 78 on the last 18. While posting a team-best five birdies, she posted 17 pars en route to her tied-for-14th finish. Durette also averaged minus-one on the par fives.

Freshman Jasmine Hsu (Fremont, CA) rounded out the Bulldog golfers with a consistent score of 86 on each day while tallying 16 pars.

Redlands takes to the road again on Saturday, March 18, and Sunday, March 19, when the team heads to Peoria, AZ, for the George Fox University Westbrook Invitational at Westbrook Village Golf Course.
