The University of Redlands women's basketball team pummeled Caltech on Thursday evening in Currier Gym, 66-25, extending its current win streak to 10 games to establish a new school record.  In the triumphant effort, the Bulldogs played 15 different individuals with 12 players scoring at least two points.

Redlands started the game hot offensively, and after buckets from senior forward Brittany Oster (Agoura Hills, CA), senior guard Colleen Goeser (San Carlos, CA), and junior guard Kaity Lykins (Simi Valley, CA), the Bulldogs were up 9-0 after just two minutes.

The U of R continued to pour it on offensively when junior guard Caitlin Ciardella (South San Francisco, CA) came into the game and nailed a pair of long-range efforts.  Eventually, the Bulldogs built their lead to 29-0 in the first half before finally surrendering the first points of the game to the Beavers with 6:21 remaining before the halftime break.

At the half, Redlands led Caltech, 34-6.  From the field, the Bulldogs shot 39.5%, while defensively holding the Beavers to just a 9.5% shooting effort during the first 20 minutes.

In the second half, the two sides traded baskets early on, but when junior guard Kameran Dage (Walnut Creek, CA) drained a couple of shots from downtown, the Bulldogs led by 34 points early in the second stanza.

Junior forward Nicole Packard (Thousand Oaks, CA) and sophomore forward Brinsley Farry (Ventura, CA) both added an offensive spark off the bench during the second stanza, contributing valuable minutes.  Additionally, freshman forward Danielle Davis (San Diego, CA) tallied her first-ever collegiate points late in the game with a pair of baskets.

Leading the way offensively on the night for the U of R was Oster with 14 points and six rebounds, while Dage chipped in with 11 points.  Goeser added five points, three rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals, while both Ciardella and Farry provided six points and five boards apiece.

As a team, the Bulldogs dominated the glass and out-rebounded the Beavers, 53-25.  Redlands also dished out 19 assists for the game to go along with 16 steals in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) victory.

The U of R (12-2, 5-0 SCIAC) returns to the court on Saturday evening when it hosts the University of La Verne (8-5, 3-1 SCIAC) in Currier Gym.  Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
