While leading wire-to-wire on Saturday night, the University of Redlands women's basketball team exploded for its highest point-total of the season en route to a 90-65 decision over the visiting Poets of Whittier College.  The triumph marks the Bulldogs' third consecutive Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) victory of the young season.

After junior guard Kaity Lykins (Simi Valley, CA) sank the Maroon and Gray's opening basket less than 30 seconds into the game, Redlands never looked back and utilized every member of its 15-woman roster.

While leading 11-9 with 16:03 to go in the first period, the Bulldogs broke open the game with a 10-0 run, as senior guard Colleen Goeser (San Carlos, CA) and sophomore forward Brinsley Farry (Ventura, CA) supplied four points apiece.

The Bulldogs closed out the half with a 50-28 advantage, thanks in part to a trio of three-pointers.  Junior guard Caitlyn Ciardella (South San Francisco, CA) initiated the long-range spurt, before junior forward Nicole Packard (Thousand Oaks, CA) and junior guard Kameran Dage (Walnut Creek, CA) joined in the action.

At halftime, the Bulldogs boasted an outstanding shooting percentage of 52.8, which included a 66.7% performance from downtown.  Whittier registered a 7-for-33 overall effort and a 4-for-15 showing from beyond the arc.

During the second half, Redlands continued to roll, racking up 40 more points at a clip of 51.9%, while maintaining a comfortable lead through the final whistle.

Oster led the high-scoring affair with 24 points, which came off of 11-for-15 shooting.  She also pulled in a game-high 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the season.

Goeser also scored in double figures, knocking down 17 points, with eight of those coming on a perfect showing at the charity stripe. She also dished out five assists for the Maroon and Gray.  After the game, she shared her insight on the team's overall performance.

Farry provided a solid spark off the bench with nine points, four rebounds, and two assists.  In addition, nine other Bulldogs chipped in two or more points for the total-team effort.

Whittier (0-6, 0-2 SCIAC) gained a team-high 12 points from Danielle Hays, while Priscilla Rodriguez added 11 and Carly Buechler chipped in 10.

Redlands (5-2, 3-0 SCIAC) takes a break from the action through final exams before heading to New York for a three-game stint.  The Bulldogs face New Jersey City University on Wed., Dec. 18, at 7 p.m. ET.  Fans may follow the action via live stats and video stream (commercials may be included).
