13 Redlands Women's Track & Field athletes earn All-SCIAC honors

2023 Women's Track & Field All-SCIAC Team

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the 2023 Women's Track and Field All-SCIAC members and 13 Bulldogs in 16 events finished inside the Top-3 of their respective event to earn conference honors.  

The Bulldogs 4x100 relay team of Maigan Adams (Los Angeles, CA), Alexandra Ackerman (Lake Elsinore, CA), Sydney Harness (Henderson, NV), and Sabrina Semmere (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) were the runners-up with a time of 47.38.

Adding to her performance on the relay team, Harness earned All-SCIAC honors in the 100m and 200m. In the 100m she ran a 12.07, the fastest time for a Bulldog in that race this season and good for third place. In the 200m she was also third as she ran a 25.29. With her three Top-3 finishes this season, a SCIAC Championship in the 4x100 relay last season, and a pair of Top-3 finishes in 2021, she becomes a six-time All-SCIAC member.

An All-American in cross country, Chloe Bullock (Hood River, OR) became the SCIAC Champion in the 800m with a winning time of 2:14.42, a personal best and 2.30 seconds ahead of second place. She added a third-place finish in the 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 11:31.34.

In the hurdles the Bulldogs had three of the six top-three finishers with Ella Bachmeier (Rancho Capistrano, CA) taking second place in the 100m Hurdles and third in the 400m Hurdles. She ran a team best 14.72 in the 100m Hurdles and a personal best time of 1:04.65 in the 400m Hurdles. Bachmeier is now a six-time All-SCIAC member with a runner-up finish in the 400m Hurdles in 2022, SCIAC Championships in the 100m Hurdles and 4x400 relay in 2021, and a third-place finish in the 400m Hurdles in 2021.

The second All-SCIAC member in the 400m Hurdles is first-year Elee Faulkner (Blaine, WA) who ran a 1:03.60 and was the runner-up.

Indoor All-America Ciara Aw (Shoreline, WA) became the SCIAC Champion in the Long Jump and Triple Jump. She jumped 5.68m/18' 7.75" in the Long Jump and set a personal best and team best 11.35m/37' 3". Her Triple Jump mark is the sixth best all-time in program history.

Christen Wiley (South San Francisco, CA) took third in the Long Jump with a personal best mark of 5.20m/17' 0.75". Wiley is now a two-time All-SCIAC member after taking second in the Triple Jump in 2022.

Along with her 4x100 relay Top-3 finish, Adams was the runner-up in the Triple Jump with a jump of 11.33m/37' 2.25". She was an All-SCIAC member in 2022 in the Triple Jump when she won the event.

In the Shot Put Timony Sherry (Shoreline, WA) took third with a 11.41m/37' 5.25". Sherry is a three-time All-SCIAC member after taking third in 2022 and second in 2021.

Caeli Havel (Pahrump, NV) became a first time All-SCIAC member after winning the Discus with a throw of 40.24m/132' 0", a new personal best.

In second in the Discus was Noelle Chavez (Yucaipa, CA) who threw 38.39m/125' 11". She is now a three-time All-SCIAC member as she is a two-time Discus champion from 2022 and 2021.

The final All-SCIAC representative is Leslie Sernaque Falcon (Concord, CA) who took third in the Hammer with a personal best throw of 45.06m/147' 10". This is her second third-place finish in the Hammer.

The Bulldogs were seven points away from winning the SCIAC team Championship. The next meet for the Bulldogs will be in Azusa at the Azusa Pacific University Last Chance Meet this coming Friday-Saturday, May 12-13 as athletes look to meet their NCAA Qualifying times and marks.
