Noelle Chavez named SCIAC Field Athlete of the Week

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Track Athletes of the Week in the tenth week of voting and University of Redlands junior thrower Noelle Chavez (Yucaipa, CA) was selected as the SCIAC Field Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career. 

Noelle had a strong Saturday for the University of Redlands Track and Field teams at SCIAC No. 2 as the Bulldogs beat Whittier College and the University of La Verne.  Chavez put together some strong performances with the best coming in the Discus where she won the event with a throw of 41.22m/135' 3", which places her 4th in the country within the NCAA Division III.  

Along with Discus she finished 4th in the Shot Put (9.60m) and 5th in the Hammer Throw (33.63m).

Redlands will continue their non-conference schedule at the Jim Click Multis hosted by the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona on Thursday-Friday, April 6-7. On Friday they will also be at the Whittier Twilight Meet at 3:30 p.m. and then on Saturday, April 8 at 9:00 a.m. they will head to Claremont for the Pomona-Pitzer Invite.
