It was announced earlier today by the US Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) that graduate student Reyna Ta'amu (Lakewood, CA) was named the NCAA Division III Women's Athlete of the Week for January 28-February 3. She becomes the first University of Redlands student-athlete to garner this honor during the indoor track & field season.
Ta'amu picked up right where she left off during her All-America season in 2018 by winning the Shot Put at the high-caliber Mountain T's Invite on Friday and Saturday. She unleashed a toss of 50' 11" in her first indoor meet and now sits atop the current NCAA Division III rankings. In addition, her mark places her seventh all-time in Division III history.
She finished second among all competitors at the meet, which included NCAA Division I, II, and III, and NAIA schools.

The Redlands track & field teams look forward to competing at the NAU Tune-Up Meet on Friday, February 15, in Flagstaff, AZ.
