Junior Luke Bohlinger Honored as SCIAC Men's Track & Field Athlete of the Week

Luke Bohlinger was named the SCIAC Men's Track & Field Athlete of the Week.

The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the athletes of the week for April 9-15, with University of Redlands' junior sprinter Luke Bohlinger (Mercer Island, WA) receiving the honor for men's track & field.

Bohlinger made significant contributions to the Bulldogs' sweep at Saturday's final multi-dual meet of the conference season.  He won two individual events and ran on the winning 4x100 relay, as Redlands defeated Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, and Caltech to improve to 8-0.

Bohlinger uncorked the fourth-fastest time in the country in the 200 Meters at 21.49 and bested the competition in the 100 with the only sub-11-second time of the day, as he crossed the finish line in 10.80. Finally, Bohlinger ran the opening leg of the first-place 4x100 Relay that clocked the Maroon and Gray's best time of the season at 42.09 to rank among the top 25 in the country.

Bohlinger and the Bulldog track & field teams look forward to hosting the 2018 SCIAC Championships on Friday, April 27, and Saturday, April 28, on Ashel Cunningham Track in Ted Runner Stadium.
