Talented Trio Represents Redlands at NCAA Division III Region 2 Diving Championships this Weekend

Redlands qualified three divers to the NCAA Diving Regionals in Texas.

It was officially announced earlier today that three divers have been selected to represent the University of Redlands and Bulldog Athletics at the NCAA Division III Region 2 Diving Championships in San Antonio, TX, on Friday, March 2, and Saturday, March 3.  Hosted by Trinity University at the Palo Alto College Aquatics Center, the competition will include sophomore Sami Scarano (Boulder, CO), sophomore Jacob Miner (Antioch, CA), and first-year Max Spiegel (Englewood, CO) among the 28 total divers at the meet.

After gaining this experience in 2016-17, Scarano returns to the NCAA Diving Regional for the second time in her young career, while Spiegel enters the championships in his inaugural year with the Bulldogs.

Miner also moves onto the postseason meet for the second time.  Last season, he earned fifth place on both boards in an impressive debut.  Most recently, Miner hauled in a pair of All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) awards for finishing among the top three in each diving event at the SCIAC Championships.

Friday's portion of the meet begins at 2 p.m. CT, with the men's three-meter and the women's one-meter taking place.  On Saturday, the meet includes the opposite events and starts at 12 noon CT.
