Three Bulldogs Haul in Five All-SCIAC Awards for U of R Swimming & Diving

The University of Redlands swimming & diving teams gained five All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) award for individual finishes among the top three during the recent conference championship meet. 

Sophomore Jacob Miner (Antioch, CA) represented the men as a two-time All-SCIAC recipient for diving.  He took second on the three-meter board with a score of 524.55 and earned a third-place tally of 463.90 in the one-meter competition.

Miner looks forward to joining first-year Max Spiegel (Englewood, CO) and sophomore Sami Scarano (Boulder, CO) at the upcoming NCAA Diving West Regional Championship this weekend in San Antonio, TX.

The Bulldog women gained three All-SCIAC awards for podium finishes at the high-caliber meet.  First-year August Key (Albuquerque, NM) hauled in a pair of All-Conference nods in her first-ever SCIAC Championships by taking third in the 200 Individual Medley (2:07.97) and the 100 Fly (57.09).  Her 200 IM time was just .04 off the winner while both races landed her among the top four in Redlands' all-time history.

In addition, junior Wendy McAleer (Simi Valley, CA) made the most of her inaugural SCIAC Swim & Dive Championships by earning All-Conference honors.  She moved from seventh to third in the 200 Fly final with a time of 2:07.74.
