Redlands Divers Open the 2011-12 Season with Cal Baptist Diving Invite

On October 22, the University of Redlands divers competed in their first event of the 2011-12 season, partaking in the Cal Baptist Diving Invitational at the Lancer Aquatic Center. Sophomore Eli Niebuhr (Las Vegas, NV) highlighted the outing as he guided the men's squad to a first-place victory by finishing second overall with 34 total points.

Niebuhr took second on both boards, registering marks of 201.10 on the one-meter and 161.70 on the three-meter.

Competing in his first meet with the Bulldogs, senior Reid Coultas (Hesperia, CA) ranked third in both events, earning 115.30 points on the low board and 111.60 on the high dive.

On the women's side, the trio of seniors Shelby Mann (Bainbridge Island, WA) and Andrea Bo (Mountain View, CA), and freshman DrewAnn Andrews (Pasadena, CA) combined for 76 points, equating to a third-place finish.

Mann notched the team's highest scores by placing fifth on the one-meter (155.15) and fourth in the three-meter (159.25).

In her first collegiate event, Andrews supplied a solid showing with marks of 119.70 (one-meter) and 100.25 (three-meter). Bo ranked eighth overall in both events, nabbing 22 points for the squad.

Redlands swimming & diving looks forward to hosting Cal Baptist University in a non-conference dual meet on Nov. 5 at 2 p.m. at the Thompson Aquatic Center.
