Collette Allen and Tyesen Gordon named NFCA All-West Region

2022 NFCA All-West Region

REDLANDS, Calif. - It was announced Tuesday by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) the All-West Region Teams, which includes sophomore Collette Allen (Sierra Madre, CA) and senior Tyesen Gordon (Lathrop, CA) from the University of Redlands Softball team. 

Both players receive recognition for the first time in their careers with Allen landing on the 1st Team as a shortstop and Gordon on the 2nd team as a first baseman.

This marks the Bulldogs' first All-Region nod since 2019 and the third under Head Coach Jose Ortega. 

Allen, who is in her second season with the Maroon and Grey has had a stellar career thus far being named 1st Team All-SCIAC and the SCIAC Player of the Year back-to-back seasons.  This year she batted .440 with four doubles, four triples, 12  home runs, 20 extra-base hits, 37 runs batted in, 40 runs scored, added a .514 OBP and an .824 slugging percentage. 

In the University of Redlands record books Allen ranks No. 2 in Homeruns, No. 3 in Slugging Percentage and No. 9 in On-Base Percentage.  In SCIAC she ranked No. 1 in On-Base Percentage, Slugging Percentage, Runs Scored, Home Runs and RBI's, was No. 2 in Triples and Batting Average, and No. 3 in Extra Base Hits.    

Then in the NCAA she ranks No. 12 in Homeruns, No. 23 in Slugging Percentage and No. 73 in On-Base Percentage.       

Gordon, who wrapped up her career with the Bulldogs, put up some career numbers this year with a .413 batting average, a .472 on-base percentage, and a .706 slugging percentage.  She also added 14 doubles, four triples, five homeruns, 23 extra base hits, 27 runs scored, 29 runs batted in, a .990 fielding percentage and 200 putouts.

In the University of Redlands record books Gordon ranks No. 3 in Putouts, No. 9 in Doubles, and No. 15 in Fielding Percentage.  In SCIAC she ranked No. 1 in Extra Base Hits, No. 2 in Triples and Slugging Percentage, No. 3 in Doubles, Putouts, and On-Base Percentage, No. 5 in Home Runs and Batting Average, No. 6 in RBI's, and No. 9 in Runs scored. 

Both players helped lead the Bulldogs to their second consecutive SCIAC Regular Season Championship Title and a berth as the No. 1 seed into the SCIAC Tournament.
