The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) office announced its weekly awards and selected junior goalkeeper Chris Martinez (Santa Ana, CA) as the Men's Water Polo Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Martinez was instrumental in the Bulldogs 2-0 week with a pair of 10-9 wins over SCIAC opponents, La Verne and Chapman. The win against the Panthers solidified Redlands spot as the fourth seed in the upcoming SCIAC Postseason Tournament.

Martinez made 10 saves against the Leopards while also swiping two steals. He stopped 11 attempts against Chapman and recorded another steal. In addition, Martinez dished out the game-winning assist with seven seconds left on the clock against the Panthers. Chapman mustered two more opportunities to score, but Martinez made the save to secure the victory.

The Bulldogs (15-14, 8-6 SCIAC) head to top-seeded Whittier College for the SCIAC PST semifinal game on Friday, November 22, at 7 p.m.
