The No. 13 University of Redlands men's tennis team squared off against the No. 30 Christopher Newport University (VA) Captains in Friday's non-conference match on Verdieck Courts.  After sweeping the doubles with a tiebreak win, the Bulldogs prevailed in five of the six singles for the solid 8-1 victory.

The No. 2 tandem of junior Chase Lipscomb (Irvine, CA) and first-year Brysl Libao (Redlands, CA) orchestrated an efficient 8-3 win to put Redlands on the board first.  First-year Cameron Krimbill (Scottsdale, AZ) and senior Cooper Lacetera (Westhampton Beach, NY) followed suit by repeating this effort at No. 3. With the sweep on the line, the Bulldogs looked to senior Joey Dulle (St. Louis, MO) and sophomore Brad Cummins (Rancho Mirage, CA) to grind out an exciting 9-8(6) win at the top slot.

With a 3-0 lead, the Maroon and Gray gained a 6-3, 6-2 win by Cummins at No. 6 before Krimbill officially put this one in the books with his 6-4, 6-3 performance at No. 3.

In addition, Libao, Dulle, and Lipscomb each earned singles victories for the Bulldogs.  Lipscomb needed three sets to get the job done but came away triumphant by scores of 7-5, 1-6, 6-1.

Redlands (7-3) faces No. 32 Swarthmore College (PA) on Wednesday, March 14, at 2 p.m. on Verdieck Courts.  The Bulldogs' match against No. 14 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges has been rescheduled for Friday, March 30, at 1 p.m. due to the likelihood of rain in tomorrow's forecast.
