The 15th-ranked University of Redlands men's tennis team hosted the Caltech Beavers in Saturday's Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) match on Verdieck Courts.  The Bulldogs took a 2-1 lead in doubles and cruised through singles with straight-set wins in five matches to capture a 7-2 victory.

The top duo of sophomore Joey Dulle (St. Louis, MO) and junior Jake Ly (Torrance, CA) set the tone with an 8-6 win, before graduate student Taylor Hunt (Seattle, WA) and sophomore Cooper Lacetera (Westhampton Beach, NY) took care of business at No. 3 with an 8-5 showing.  Although the Beavers grabbed a tight 9-7 win at No. 2, the Bulldogs sat in great position with a 2-1 lead.

Redlands quickly secured the team victory by prevailing in the first three singles matches off the court.  Freshman Chase Lipscomb (Irvine, CA) put together a 6-1, 6-3 performance at No. 1, before Hunt made quick work of his No. 6 opponent in a 6-1, 6-0 decision.  Ly officially sealed the deal with his 6-0, 6-3 victory at the No. 4 position.

In addition, Dulle and junior Parker Wilson (Carlsbad, CA) registered wins in straight sets at Nos. 1 and 3 for the Bulldogs.

Redlands (15-5, 4-1 SCIAC) takes a short break from dual-match competition in order to compete in the 116th Ojai Valley Tournament on Friday, April 22, through Sunday, April 24.
