The No. 15 University of Redlands men's tennis team competed in a busy Saturday that yielded split results, including a win in the Bulldogs' first Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) match of the season.  They traveled to Eagle Rock for the afternoon showdown against the Occidental College Tigers and came home with a solid 9-0 victory.  Earlier in the day, the Maroon and Gray hosted No. 18 Whitman College (WA) but suffered a 2-7 loss against the in-region foe.

Against Occidental, the Bulldogs dominated the doubles with a 24-5 advantage in the scoring, as highlighted by freshman Chase Lipscomb (Irvine, CA) and junior Parker Wilson's (Carlsbad, CA) blanking of their No. 2 counterparts.  In addition, freshman Sawyer Patterson (Burbank, CA) and junior Tom Suchodolski (Amherst, MA) took care of business at No. 3 with an 8-2 decision.  Finally, sophomore Joey Dulle (St. Louis, MO) and junior Jake Ly (Torrance, CA) secured the doubles sweep with their 8-3 effort at the top slot.

In singles, the Maroon and Gray continued to roll, beginning with sophomore Cooper Lacetera's (Westhampton Beach, NY) 6-0, 6-1 thrashing of his No. 5 opponent.  Wilson sealed the deal for the Bulldogs' victory with an impressive 6-0, 6-0 performance at the No. 3 slot.

Furthermore, Redlands won at every remaining position, with Lipscomb, freshman Bryant Johnson (Fair Oaks, CA), Ly, and Suchodolski notching quality showings.

During the first match of the day, Redlands hosted Whitman on Verdieck Courts but faced an early deficit that proved to be too much to overcome.  The Bulldogs' only points came in singles, with Lipscomb winning at No. 2 by scores of 6-0, 6-3, and Wilson prevailing in a 5-7, 6-0, 10-5 effort at No. 4.

Redlands (10-3, 1-0 SCIAC) takes on regional foe Lewis & Clark College (OR) on Tuesday, March 22, at 2 p.m. on Verdieck Courts.
