The No. 15 University of Redlands men's tennis team returned to action on Verdieck Courts on Friday afternoon by squaring off against the No. 32 Washington & Lee University Generals in a non-conference showdown.  After prevailing in all three doubles matches, the Bulldogs snagged the early decision with efficient performances at Nos. 3 and 5 singles.  Although the Generals rallied for two points, Redlands put this one in the books by a score of 7-2.

With a refreshed line-up, the Bulldogs stormed out to a 3-0 lead by sweeping the doubles.  Junior Jake Ly (Torrance, CA) and graduate student Taylor Hunt (Seattle, WA) initiated the scoring with their 8-2 win at the No. 2 slot.  Freshman Sawyer Patterson (Burbank, CA) and junior Parker Wilson (Carlsbad, CA) combined effort for a formidable showing at No. 3, also winning by a score of 8-2.  Although Redlands' top tandem was tested by a late surge by the Generals, sophomore Joey Dulle (St. Louis, MO) and freshman Chase Lipscomb (Irvine, CA) came out victorious with an 9-7 effort.

In singles, Ly continued to roll at No. 5 with a 6-3, 6-1 win, before Parker clinched the overall match for the Bulldogs by taking down his No. 3 opponent by scores of 6-1, 6-3.

Furthermore, Lipscomb and sophomore Cooper Lacetera (Westhampton Beach, NY) recorded singles victories for the Maroon and Gray, winning their respective matches at Nos. 2 and 6.

Redlands (4-0) hosts the No. 21 Bates College (ME) Bobcats on Saturday, February 27, at 1 p.m. on Verdieck Courts.
