The 15th-ranked University of Redlands men's tennis team made the trek to Thousand Oaks on Saturday to face off against Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) rival and 20th-ranked Cal Lutheran University. Despite earning the early-season advantage over the Kingsmen, the Bulldogs fell short of the repeat performance in a 1-8 decision.
The Bulldogs battled at No. 3 doubles but suffered a tight defeat in a tiebreaker, 9-8(4).
Redlands' only point of the day came at No. 3 singles, where freshman Parker Wilson (Carlsbad, CA) shined for the Maroon and Gray with his 6-2, 6-2 effort.
The Bulldogs (7-11, 1-3 SCIAC) head to Whittier College on Friday, April 11, for a SCIAC match against the No. 21 Poets, beginning at 2 p.m.
