While competing in its 12th match in the month of March, the No. 15 University of Redlands men's tennis team faced off against the top-ranked Stags of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on Verdieck Courts.   Despite strong performances at No. 3 doubles and No. 1 singles, the Bulldogs fell short by a score of 0-9.

The No. 3 doubles duo of junior Ted Burchett (Gold River, CA) and freshman Jake Ly (Torrance, CA) battled through a tight match but eventually faltered in the tiebreak, 9-8(3).

While taking on the top-ranked singles player in the West Region, junior Patrick Lipscomb (Irvine, CA) fired off an impressive 6-2 triumph to open his match.  His opponent rallied to force a second-set tiebreaker and then completed the comeback with another tiebreaker in the third set, leading to Lipscomb's tough loss.

Redlands (7-9, 1-1 SCIAC) takes to the road for its next three contests, beginning with Friday's 2 p.m. SCIAC bout against Pomona-Pitzer Colleges.
