Bulldog Men's Soccer Bumps Up Three Spots to No. 16 in United Soccer Coaches Poll

It was recently announced by the United Soccer Coaches that the University of Redlands men's soccer team has moved up from No. 19 to No. 16 in the fifth NCAA Division III National Poll of the current campaign.

This rise in the standings comes after a 7-0, conference win over Caltech and a hard-fought, 2-2 draw against the University of La Verne. The victory against Caltech included four different goal-scorers, with freshman midfielder Collin ChubbFertal (Eugene, OR) leading the charge with three.

In the match against La Verne, the Maroon and Gray showed tremendous heart by fighting back from a two-goal deficit. Senior midfielder Casey ChubbFertal (Eugene, OR) headed in the equalizing score in the 72nd minute off of a free kick. But through two overtime periods, the teams ended in a draw.

Accompanying the national announcement came the United Soccer Coaches Regional Rankings, which placed the Bulldogs at No. 2 out of 10 teams, sitting only behind Trinity University (TX).

Redlands (9-3-1, 8-0-1 SCIAC) looks forward to hosting Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on Saturday, October 14, for a 7 p.m. kick-off on Farquhar Field.
