The University of Redlands men's soccer program recorded its third hat-trick victory in the last four games en route to defeating Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) rival Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges by a score of 3-0 on Saturday afternoon at the friendly confines of Farquhar Field.

The Bulldogs have now ripped off five consecutive victories while outscoring their opponents by a margin of 18-1.

Senior captain defender Danny Day (Beaverton, OR) posted one of his classic headers to initiate the scoring in the 18th minute of action.  Junior midfielder Gabe Ramirez (Pasadena, CA), who currently leads the team and conference in assists, placed a perfect ball off of a corner kick to set up Day.

Ramirez joined in the scoring attack when he registered his third netter of the 2011 campaign just 13:28 into the second half. Sophomore midfielder Pat Roraff (Redlands, CA) collected an assist by making a sweet sliding pass to Ramirez for an open look at the Stags' goal.

Both junior midfielder Alex Laughton (Pleasanton, CA) and junior defender Nick Eary (Las Vegas, NV) helped set up native Redlander, freshman Charles Izydorek, to cap off the Maroon and Gray's hat trick at the 63:14-mark.

Redlands' starting backline of Day, junior Brad Jackson (Medina, WA), sophomore Richie Marquez (Pomona, CA) and freshman Nico Johnson (Las Vegas, NV) kept the Stag strikers in check. Sophomore goalkeeper Andreas Silva (San Jose, CA) picked up his conference-leading fourth shutout of the season while notching seven saves in the process.

The U of R (8-3-0, 5-0-0) returns to action on Sunday by traveling to Mt. Clef Stadium in Thousand Oaks to take on the Kingsmen of Cal Lutheran University at 4 p.m.
