With junior forward Jamie Griffin (Seattle, WA) supplying a first-half hat trick, the University of Redlands men's soccer team cruised by the visiting Kingsmen of Cal Lutheran University, 4-0, on Saturday under the lights of Farquhar Field during Homecoming.

Griffin began his offensive onslaught at the 22:53 mark by sending one past the CLU goalkeeper after connecting with sophomore defender Brad Jackson's (Bellevue, WA) right-to-left pass

Redlands registered its second score less than six minutes later off of sophomore midfielder Gabe Ramirez's (Pasadena, CA) corner kick that Griffin headed into the back of the net.

Griffin finalized his first-half hat trick at the 38th minute when freshman midfielder Pat Roraff (Redlands, CA) fed him a deep cross for the one-timer score.

The Maroon and Gray capped off the evening in the 77th minute as the team's two captains combined efforts for the fourth netter with junior forward Cody Carlson (Burbank, CA) assisting on senior midfielder John Brookover's (Boise, ID) third goal of the season.

The goalkeeper combination of freshman Andreas Silva (San Jose, CA) and junior Jason Smuckler (Woodland Hills, CA) posted eight saves during 90 minutes en route to the combined shutout.

The Bulldogs made the most of their offensive opportunities with an 18-14 shot advantage to go along with three more corner kick chances than the Kingsmen.

With tonight's celebratory victory, the Bulldogs eclipsed the 10-win plateau and now improve to 9-1-2 in Southern California Intercollegiate Conference (SCIAC) play.

Redlands hosts Senior Night on Wednesday as it takes on the Tigers of Occidental College with a 7 p.m. kickoff on Farquhar Field.
