The No. 10 University of Redlands men's golf team took on primarily NCAA Division II competitors at the Las Vegas Desert Classic on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.  While competing at the Royal Links Golf Club, the Bulldogs supplied solid rounds to earn a seventh-place score of 882 in the field of 15 teams.  However, the Maroon and Gray finished second among the four NCAA Division III teams in attendance, sitting just one stroke behind the University of Texas at Tyler.

Individually, senior Alex Stroes (San Marcos, CA) paced the Bulldogs with his tied-for-23rd-place showing off a 56-hole score of 221.  His best round of 70 was complemented by scores of 73 and 78.  He led all players with 40 pars over the three days and earned a plus-three average of 4.10 on the par fours.

Junior Cameron Cooper (Seattle, WA) and first-year Kyle Sharp (Austin, TX) tied for 32nd with a total of 223.  Cooper registered rounds of 72, 71, and 80, while Sharp tallied scores of 79, 71, and 73.  Sharp also earned a par-five score of minus-six for a score of 4.50 during the tournament.

Junior Jake Hollander (Peterborough, NH) and senior Cade Lawson (Lake Oswego, OR) completed the Maroon and Gray's scoring five with their respective tallies of 224 and 225.  En route to notching 34 pars, Hollander improved his round each day and finished the final 18 holes with a 73.  In addition, Lawson provided consistency with back-to-back-to-back 75s.

Redlands heads to the West Cup on Monday, March 25, and Tuesday, March 26, at Sierra La Verne Golf Course.
