With a game-high 22 points from senior David Menary (Grass Valley, CA), the University of Redlands men's basketball celebrated Senior Night by clinching the No. 2 seed and a home game in the upcoming Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Postseason Tournament with their, 103-73, victory over the University of La Verne on Tuesday night.

Each of the four seniors got the Maroon and Gray going quickly, starting with an offensive rebound from senior wing Brittian Foster (Long Beach, CA) that was followed by a subsequent three-pointer from Menary right out the gate. A couple of possessions later, Foster poked the ball loose and pushed it up to senior guard Hass Berry (Riverside, CA) for the fast-break layup to make it 5-2. On the next play, senior guard Thomas Scriven (Anaheim, CA) got in the action with a steal that led to a layup from sophomore forward Kameron Wright (Fontana, CA) on the other end to make it 7-2 just over two minutes in. Less than a minute later, Hass came up with another steal for the Bulldogs that led to a fast-break layup to push the lead to 9-2.

Defense continued to fuel offense in the first half with first-year forward Griffin Barker (Kirkland, WA) nabbing a steal that led to a successful four-point play from junior guard Jack Roggin (Toluca Lake, CA) for the Bulldogs' first double-digit lead of the contest at 15-4 less than four minutes in.

The Leopards worked their deficit down to just five over the next couple minutes, but four consecutive points and a steal from Menary sparked a 9-0 run that put the Maroon and Gray up 28-14 with 12:25 left before the break.

After the midway point in the half, the Leopards trimmed their lead back down to single figures, but junior guard Vincenzo Ferrari (Burlingame, CA) stepped back for a triple to extend the lead back up to 40-28 with 6:21 on the clock.

Four minutes later, Redlands put on a three-point shooting display with four straight triples to bust open the game late in the first half. Roggin found Berry in transition on two consecutive possessions, while Ferrari knocked down his third and four treys of the game to help take a 59-39 lead into halftime.

Within the first minute of the second half, Wright scored on consecutive layups for a 63-41 advantage. Each time La Verne gained a little momentum, the Bulldogs snatched it away, including a 7-0 run that was capped by a three-pointer from Berry to extend the lead to 80-57 after the 10-minute mark in the second half.

With a comfortable lead down the stretch, the first-years stepped up with five points coming from guard Aiden Williams (Portland, OR) and a layup from Griffin off an assist from Williams in just over a minute span for a 94-66 advantage with 3:20 to go.

To end an exciting Senior Night, Foster jostled the ball loose and took it coast-to-coast for a powerful two-handed slam to help the Bulldogs seal a 103-73 victory in the regular-season finale.

For the game, Menary led with a game-high 22 points on 10-for-15 shooting. Berry added 13 points with three triples, while Scriven contributed a steal. Foster played an all-around game with seven points, four boards, four assists, and two steals in 13 minutes of action. Off the bench, Ferrari and Barker each registered 15 points, while Roggin produced seven assists.

No.2-seeded Redlands (19-6, 12-4) hosts No. 3 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges in the SCIAC Postseason semifinal on Friday, February 28, at 7 p.m.
