SCIAC Football Weekly Release (No. 5)

REDLANDS, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Athletes of the Week in the fifth week of voting.  University of Redlands junior wide receiver Giovanni Isles (Chino Hills, CA) was selected as the Football Specialist of the Week following a 22-19 victory over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. 

Giovanni provided a special teams spark for Redlands in the Bulldogs' SCIAC road win. The junior wideout fielded the opening kickoff of the game and took it back 95 yards for a touchdown to give U of R an early 7-0 lead. He finished with three kickoff returns for 141 yards, averaging 47 yards per attempt. He also caught a pass for 27 yards that led to another Bulldogs' score. 

The Maroon and Grey remain on the road this Saturday, October 9 when they travel to take on the University of La Verne beginning at 1:00pm.
