Coach Aaron De La Rosa Moves from Redlands to Reedley High School for Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coaching Position

Head Football Coach Mike Maynard announced yesterday that University of Redlands Special Teams Coordinator Aaron De La Rosa has accepted the opportunity to become the Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach at Reedley High School in Reedley, CA.

"I would like to thank [Coach] for the opportunity to be a part of his widely respected staff.  It has been an honor to be on his staff for three seasons," De La Rosa commented in an email.

De La Rosa began his three-year tenure at Redlands as a graduate assistant coach, working primarily with the linebackers while attending the School of Business.  After completing his Master of Arts in Management, he took on the responsibilities of Special Teams Coordinator and also coached the corners for the Bulldogs during the 2015 season.

During his time with the Maroon and Gray, the Bulldogs put together a solid 17-11 record that included the 2013 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) championship.  That year Redlands ranked No. 1 in all NCAA divisions for Red-Zone Defense.

In 2014 and 2015, the Bulldogs led the conference in defensive turnovers, forcing their foes to 29 and 22 turnovers, respectively.

After taking over the corners and Special Teams, De La Rosa helped his players garner multiple All-SCIAC awards, including Sean Murray (Phoenix, AZ) as a First-Team punter and kicker, as well as Colin Spencer (Olivet, MI) as a First-Team corner.  Spencer also received Second-Team honors for his contributions on Special Teams, while Aaron Mandell (Seattle, WA) achieved the same award as a corner.

The Bulldogs ranked first in the conference in kick-off returns, punting, and punt returns during De La Rosa's final season.

Before arriving at Redlands, De La Rosa worked at Clovis North High School for the three years in Fresno, CA.  As the Assistant Head Coach for varsity, he led the Special Teams and running backs, and served as Co-Offensive Coordinator.
