Bulldog Quintet Represents Redlands on NFF Hampshire Honor Society

It was announced on Wednesday that five University of Redlands football players were among the more than 850 new members of the 2016 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society, which includes senior college student-athletes from all levels of the sport. While celebrating its 10th year, the NFF Hampshire Honor Society has selected linebacker Griffin Lord (Upland, CA), tight end Taylor Moore (San Bernardino, CA), kicker/punter Sean Murray (Seattle, WA), defensive back Colin Spencer (Olivet, MI), and running back Curtis Tanquary (San Jose, CA) for their academic achievement of a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better as a starter or significant contributor to the football program.

In 2015, Lord recorded 50 tackles, including three for a loss of 11 yards and served as a captain. During his four-year career at Redlands, he collected 2014 Preseason USA College Football All-America honors and was an integral part of the 2011 team that advanced to the NCAA Division III Championships for the sixth time in school history. He recently completed his degree in Environmental Business.

Moore, who played for Head Coach Mike Maynard during three seasons, competed as a tight end in seven games during the most recent campaign. Academically, he shined with six semesters on the Dean's List. This member of the ODK Economics Honor Society also collected three Redlands Scholar-Athlete awards as a Financial Economics major.

Murray capped off a stellar two-year career with the Bulldogs as a two-time D3football.com All-Region performer. He also collected First-Team All-Conference honors as a punter and as a kicker. During his final campaign, he reset the school record with a 54-yard field goal. He was also recognized by the Fred Mitchell Award for excellence on the field and in the community during the month of October. He recently completed his degree in Business Administration.

Prior to graduating with a degree in History, Spencer was named the October Omicron Delta Kappa Student-Athlete of the Month for his excellence in the classroom, on the field, and throughout the campus community. He tallied 42 total tackles, six pass break-ups and two interceptions during the 2015 season to land on the All-Conference First Team as a defensive back. As the team's top punt returner, he gained Second-Team All-Conference honors for Special Teams.

Finally, Tanquary recorded 464 rushing yards to rank second on the team en route to a solid final season. Academically, he landed on the Dean's List on multiple occasions. This three-time recipient of the Ultimate Dog Award was named the Team's Freshman of the Year in 2012. He completed his double major in Business Administration and Spanish earlier this month.
