ORANGE, Calif. – The University of Redlands Baseball team (11-11, 3-6) battled Chapman University in a 2-1 loss Friday afternoon on the road as Bulldog ace Tyler Reiter (San Diego, CA) turned in 6.1 Innings with only two runs allowed.

After the Panthers scored the first run of the game in the third, Max Clark (Fontana, CA) hit his fifth home run of the season, a solo shot in the top half of the fifth, as he tied the game up at one.

Clark's home run was the lone tally for the Maroon and Grey and was one of only five hits for the offense as Chapman pulled out the win in the seventh coming on a bunt single to first base, which scored the eventual game-winning run.

Combining with Reiter on the two-run pitching effort was Jakob Russell (Fontana, CA) who threw 1.2 innings with a strikeout and no runs allowed. Offensively not only was the lone run off the bat of Clark, but so were three of the five Bulldog hits. Luke De Vries (Irvine, CA) and Jared Anderson (Gilbert, AZ) also collected singles.

The Bulldogs will return to The Yard tomorrow, Saturday, April 1 for a doubleheader with the Panthers.  First pitches slated for 11:00am and 2:30pm.
