Christopher Scalisi and John White Represent Redlands Baseball on the ABCA/Rawlings® All-Region Third Team

It was announced earlier today that junior second baseman Christopher Scalisi (Woodland Hills, CA) and junior pitcher John White (Burbank, CA) of the University of Redlands baseball team were named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings® NCAA Division III West All-Region Third Team.

While competing in all 41 games, Scalisi secured the No. 3 hole for the Bulldogs en route to a team-best batting average of .392.  In 158 at-bats, he also led the Maroon and Gray with 62 hits, including 13 doubles and one round-tripper.  He ranked first on the team with 44 RBI.  During the middle portion of the season, he strung together a 16-game hitting streak that was highlighted by nine multi-hit showings.  Defensively, he shored up second base with a .961 fielding percentage off of 87 putouts and 116 assists that included 26 double plays.  This is Scalisi's third-consecutive ABC All-Region nod.

White made 20 appearances on the mound for a total of 32.1 innings pitched as an effective closer for the Bulldogs.  He tallied a 4-2 record with three saves while striking out 44 en route to an impressive ERA of 1.67.  Overall, he gave up six earned runs over the course of the season.  During the last game of the campaign, he went four innings against Occidental College and fanned a season-high six batters.  This marks White's inaugural All-Region honor.
