2023 Women's Soccer Schedule

REDLANDS, Calif. - University of Redlands Head Women's Soccer Coach Suzette Soboti announced her 2023 Schedule Monday with the Bulldogs opening their 2023 regular season against Trinity University (Texas) on Friday, September 1 at 4:00 p.m. at Farquhar Field.

This fall the Maroon and Grey will play 17 games with nine inside Farquhar Field and another eight on the road. They will also play five non-conference games with three at home and two on the road, both coming against teams from Texas.

Redlands started their 2022 season with three of their first four games on the road including two in New Jersey, one of which was against then No. 2 The College of New Jersey. Their matchup with Trinity (Tex.) in a few weeks will be against the Tigers who went 20-1-2 a year ago ending their season in the Round of 16.  Trinity is currently ranked No. 9 in the United Soccer Coaches preseason Top-25. Redlands lost their only matchup 2-0 in 2014 against the Tigers.

After hosting Trinity (Tex.) Redlands will host Linfield University on Sunday, Sept. 3 at 9:30 a.m. The Wildcats went 5-8-7 in 2022 and this will be the first meeting between the two programs.

The Bulldogs will follow up their two game home stand with a road trip to Texas where they play at McMurray University on Friday, Sept. 8 (5:00 p.m.). The War Hawks finished 2022 8-6-4 and lost in their conference semi-final.

24 hours later Redlands will then take on Hardin-Simmons University (HSU) on Sept. 9. HSU went 12-3-2 in 2022. The Bulldogs last played the Cowgirls in 2014 winning 2-1 in a neutral site game.

On Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 7:00 p.m. on Farquhar Field the Bulldogs will host Chapman University for their first Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) game of the season. The Bulldogs beat the Panthers 2-0 in their lone meeting last season. Chapman finished sixth in SCIAC at 4-7-6, 2-4-6 SCIAC.

After a quick game at home, the Bulldogs will head on the road for three-straight as part of their five-of-six games on the road over the course of 19 days.

The first road contest is Sept. 20 at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS). The Athenas finished third in SCIAC at 9-6-6, 5-2-5 SCIAC. The two sides played once in 2022 with the Bulldogs winning 2-1 on the road.

Occidental College is the second road game for the U of R on Sept. 23. The Bulldogs split a year ago with the Tigers winning 2-1 on the road and falling 1-0 at home. In 2022 the Tigers finished seventh at 3-6-6, 1-5-6 SCIAC.

On Sept. 27 the Bulldogs will visit Pomona-Pitzer. Last season the Sagehens won the SCIAC Regular Season Championship and the SCIAC Tournament Title going 13-2-4, 8-1-3 SCIAC. Redlands dropped both games to the Sagehens 4-1 and 3-1 in the regular season and fell short 3-2 in a late comeback attempt in the SCIAC Tournament.

Redlands returns home for a late morning game on Sept. 30 with Whittier College. It was a tale of two games last season between these two teams as the Bulldogs won at home 2-0 and fell 4-0 on the road. The Poets finished fifth in SCIAC at 8-3-5, 4-3-5 SCIAC.

The first game of October will see Redlands host Caltech on the fourth as they play a night game at Farquhar. In 2022 the Bulldogs won 2-0 at home over the Beavers. Caltech finished in ninth within the conference standings going 4-8-5, 2-8-2 SCIAC.

The final two first time meetings will come against California Lutheran University (CLU) on Oct. 7 and the University of La Verne (ULV) on Oct. 11.

Redlands will travel to CLU for a 1:00 p.m kickoff. The Bulldogs and Regals played once last season with the Regals winning 2-0. CLU was the SCIAC Regular Season Runners-Up at 9-5-5, 6-1-5 SCIAC.

The Bulldogs game with ULV will be at home on a Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. UR handled the Leopards 3-0 at home a year ago before finishing with a 1-1 road draw. ULV finished eighth in SCIAC at 4-8-5, 1-6-5 SCIAC.

On Oct. 14 the Bulldogs host the Sagehens for homecoming with kickoff in the morning at 11:00 a.m. Redlands will then make a trip to Pasadena for the first time in two years as they play Caltech on Oct. 18 at 4:00 p.m.

After more than a month of SCIAC play Redlands will host UC Santa Cruz in their final non-conference game on Oct. 21 at 4:00 p.m. in the first game of a doubleheader with the men's team who will also play the Banana Slugs. In 2022 the Bulldogs lost 2-1 on the road in the Bay Area. The Banana Slugs went 9-5-2 in 2022.

This will be the first back-to-back season matchup with UCSC since playing four consecutive seasons between 2012 and 2015. Redlands holds an 8-5-1 all-time record with UC Santa Cruz.

In their return to SCIAC play the Bulldogs will travel to Chapman on Oct. 25 and will then end the regular season on October 28 with Claremont-M-S at 11:00 a.m. for senior day.

The SCIAC Tournament will be taking place on November 2 and 4 with the top four teams from the regular season participating with the higher seeds hosting the lower seed with the tournament winner earning the automatic qualifying spot in the NCAA Division III National Championships.
