No. 1 Bulldog Women's Golf Distances Themselves in First Place After Day 2 Of SCIAC Championships

The No. 1 University of Redlands women's golf team took on day two of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships at Los Serranos Golf Course on Monday afternoon. The team distanced themselves even further ahead of second place with a second day tally of 313 for a 624 total, 24 strokes in front of second place.

Sophomore Hannah Jugar (Chula Vista, CA) continues to lead all competitors after 36 holes, shooting a 78 over round two for a 153 total. Junior Kendall Nicholson (Bellevue, WA) impressed by moving up seven spots, from ninth to second, shaving off six strokes from her opening 18 holes, for a 156 total (81-75). Both Jugar and Nicholson shot even on par fives while Jugar comes in first with 24 pars and Nicholson follows with 22.

Junior Malia Kiger (Redondo Beach, CA) also moved up among the finishers to fourth place combining day one's 79 and day two's 80 for a 159 on her scorecard. First-year Iris Liu (Diamond Bar, CA) followed right behind in tied-for fifth with a 160 (78-82).

Senior Annie Hay (University Place, WA) improved her second day total by three strokes and moved up two places to ninth. She entered the clubhouse with a 163 (83-80) after the 36 holes.

Senior Mariah Moon (La Quinta, CA), who is playing as an individual, and first-year Gabrielle Kiger (Redondo Beach, CA) landed in tied-for-10th place. Moon moved up four spaces, knocking off an impressive 12 strokes from her first-day tally for a two-round score of 164 (88-76). G. Kiger also entered the clubhouse with a 164 (79-85). She takes the third spot with 20 total pars.

The team looks forward to competing in the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
