Hannah Jerrier named SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Year

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Women's Basketball All-Conference awards along with their Athletes of the Year, and the Defensive Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive season went to University of Redlands center Hannah Jerrier (Canton, MA).

Jerrier is averaging 12.6 PPG, a career-high 11.9 RPG, 2.46 APG, 2.38 BPG, and 1.46 SPG.

She currently sits fourth in single-season offensive rebounds with 98, second in defensive rebounds with 212, second in total rebounds with 310, and first with 62 blocks.

This season Jerrier posted rebounding games of 20 (at Caltech, Jan. 4), 19 (vs. CMS, Jan. 18), 17 (vs. Puget Sound, Dec. 16), and 16 twice (at Pomona-Pitzer, Jan. 7 and at Pacific Lutheran, Dec. 17). Those games rank third, fifth, 13th, and then tied for 18th-best rebounding games in program history.

Jerrier and the Bulldogs earned the SCIAC's AQ bid thanks to defeating the University of La Verne on the road in the SCIAC Tournament Final 70-69. They will play their first-round game in the NCAA Division III National Championships against Hardin-Simmons this Friday, March 3 at 3:30 p.m. PST in San Antonio, Texas on the campus of Trinity University.
