Bulldog Track & Field collects 17 All-Region Awards among 13 Competitors

NEW ORLEANS - The U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the recipients of the 2022 All-West Region honors this week, with 13 members of the University of Redlands Track & Field teams accounting for 17 awards.  The All-Region selections include the top five individuals in each event and the top three relays in outdoor track & field from member institutions among each region.

Redlands' women hauled in 13 honors with graduate student Andrea Lyon (Danville, CA) gaining three of them bringing her season total to four coming in both Indoor and Outdoor.  She becomes an All-Region selection in the 200-Meter (No. 2 - 24.19) and the 400-Meter (No. 1 - 55.52) after leading SCIAC in both events.  Furthermore, Lyon joins Alexandra Ackerman, (Lake Elsinore, CA), Courtney O'Neal (Las Vegas, NV), and Sydney Harness (Henderson, NV) among the Bulldog All-Region 4x100 Relay team that posted a 46.12 on the season, which led the eight SCIAC teams and the West Region.

With this year's award, O'Neal gains her third All-Region selection as part of the 4x100 Relay.  Ackerman earns her second All-Region selection on the 4x100 Relay, while at the same time completing the trifecta in All-Region accolades coming in the 100m, where she led SCIAC with a time of 11.91, while ranking No. 2 in the West Region.  Earlier this year she was also an All-Region performer in Indoor Track & Field coming in the 60m.  Harness picks up her second All-Region nod, coming in the 4x100 Relay.    

Hannah Albrecht (Cottage Grove, OR) brought her career All-Region outdoor total to seven after she compiled 4,263 points during the Heptathlon to lead SCIAC, while finishing No. 2 in the West Region.  During the Redlands Invitational, she took first in four out of the seven events and added second place finishes in the other three.

Isabella Glenn (Seattle, WA), who competed in the 3000m, 5000m, and the 3000m Steeplechase throughout the season finds herself with another All-Region selection coming in the 3000m Steeplechase where she posted a time of 10:51.12 coming at the Oxy Invitational.  She led SCIAC in the event for the second straight year and finished No. 2 in the West Region.  

First year Maigan Adams (Los Angeles, CA) and junior Ciara Aw (Seattle, WA) led the University of Redlands in the jumps.  Adams in just her first season competing for the Maroon and Grey led SCIAC in the Triple Jump with a mark of 11.77m, which came during SCIAC No. 3.  She also ranked No. 3 in the West Region.  Aw, who was also an Indoor Track & Field All-Region selection this season coming in the Long Jump posted a mark of 5.58m in the Long Jump during Outdoors, coming at the Redlands Invitational placing her No. 5 in the West Region securing her second All-Region nod. 

Ella Bachmeier (Rancho Capistrano, CA) gains her second All-Region accolade of her career, but her first coming in the 100m Hurdles where she ranked No. 2 in SCIAC and No. 3 in the West Region posting a time of 14.65.  Noelle Chavez (Yucaipa, CA) was the last Bulldog to earn recognition coming in the Discus where she led SCIAC with a throw of 42.65m, while ranking No. 2 in the West Region.  She has now earned All-Region honors in back-to-back years.

On the men's side three Bulldogs were recognized with All-Region accolades led by Graduate Student Tucker Cargile (Denver, CO) who becomes an All-Region performer in the 800m and 1500m.  He led SCIAC and the West Region in the 800m with a time of 1:48.89 and was No. 3 in the 1500m with a time of 3:46.36.  He now becomes a four-time All-Region selection in the 800m, a four time All-Region selection within Indoor Track & Field (800m & Mile) and receives his first nod in the 1500m.     

Dual sport athlete Markelle Raymond-Hill (Fresno, CA), who also plays Football for the Maroon and Grey put together an impressive first year becoming an All-West Region selection in the 100m with a time of 10.46, which led SCIAC and ranked him No. 3 in the West Region.

First year Jacob Huset (Tacoma, WA) was the last Bulldog to earn recognition coming in the High Jump, where he was No. 2 in SCIAC and No. 3 in the West Region with a mark of 2.02m.
